Hello Again

Hello Again

– June 15th, 2026 –

I’m still alive. Welcome back to the devlog.

It’s been a little over a year since the last devlog I wrote. I had a bunch of optimistic plans back then, but life has a funny way of getting away from you at times. I’m not going to promise anything about posting these consistently, but I will say that it’s my intention to make at least one a month.

There’s a chance that might not pan out, though. So no promises.

– What’s this for? –

These devlogs are mainly intended as a way for me to document what I’ve been working on and keep myself a bit more accountable. I’m a horrid procrastinator, so having recurring soft-deadlines like this helps me.

I’m also trying to get more comfortable with the idea of regularly sharing my work. Showing progress updates has always felt like pulling teeth to me, and that’s something I want to get over.

Sometimes I’ll vague-post about things that I want to keep as a surprise, rather than outright spoil them. I may also be occasionally working on things under NDA that I obviously can’t share here.

I’m probably going to throw in stuff that isn’t strictly game-development related, too. I’ve always hard-focused the previous devlogs on purely dev-related stuff, and I feel that’s part of the reason I’ve kept burning out on them. They just started to feel like an extra obligation instead of something I actually wanted to write.

Honestly, you should think of this as more of an amateur personal blog than professional documentation. I’m too lazy to make comprehensive dev-vlog style videos, and word-vomiting here is just easier.

– So how’s it formatted? –

Like this.

– No, but seriously –

I’ll try to keep each topic-of-interest under its own relevant title. So when you’re reading you can just skim through to the stuff you care about. Pictures and videos will occasionally pop up, and I might also throw random links in the text like this.

There are a bunch of potential things I could put in these posts, so the topics and formatting may vary as time goes on.

– What have I been doing? –

Simultaneously a lot and nothing at all. More specifically, a lot of irl stuff, and almost no dev stuff.

Like, I have a bunch of plans for stuff I want to make, but not much to actually show. Sadly, being an idea guy isn’t as impressive as most idea guys think it is. So I don’t really have anything to flex at the moment.

uh…

yeah…

I swallowed a mosquito on accident a couple days ago. That was pretty much the highlight of the last month.

Anyway, that’s it for today’s devlog.
I’ll see you in the next one if I ever write it.
