Intermediate DevLog – After the Hiatus.

Hello all! After quite a long wait, the DevLogs are finally back!

To start, I should probably explain some things: I have recently decided to change the host for this website, due to the previous one having WAY too many limitations (seriously, nobody should have to pay a premium to be allowed to upload something to their own site). The reason this is important is because, while transferring the domain, I ultimately decided it’d be for the best to re-build the site from scratch. With the extra freedom I now have, I can do so much more, and attempting to integrate the new changes into the old site would have been too much of a headache.

That said: because this is a new site, the old DevLogs from when I was working on ToTLS are no longer available to read (at least as of writing this).

With that out of the way, lets get into it:

Since ToTLS launched back in November, I have been planning and working on its first major content update: The Hidden Truths Update!

This update adds a whole bunch of things, mainly including:

  • The 7 Secret Levels
  • The 3rd Ending
  • New Achievements
  • Speedrun Mode
  • Green-run (a more challenging variation of all the levels in the game)
  • and even a death counter

Along with everything listed, there’s also a couple small story rewrites and fixes for the sake of clarity.

The Hidden Truths Update should be done and available some time in March, so look forward to it!

While I’m here, I’d like to half-officially announce the start of my second project: Comatour.

Without spoiling much: Comatour is a 2D top-down roguelike about a person who’s trying to wake up from a coma.

The game is still quite early in development, so while I have the vast majority of it planned out, those plans are still subject to change as the game grows. Because of this: I’m going to be keeping the features secret until I can say with 100% certainty that they are going to be in the game.

Final Thoughts

Initial development on Comatour is going to be slow, since I’m still busy working the content update for ToTLS. So, the next few DevLogs are going to most-likely only focus on The Hidden Truths Update. When I have a decent chunk of progress on Comatour done and ready, I’ll be sure to upload a nice big DevLog all about it.
